Artificial Intelligence in the Focus of SEEU Staff Training
5 September 2024
As part of the staff development and training program, from 3rd–5th September, the traditional training was held, which this year focused on the key theme: "Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Higher Education: Opportunities, Challenges, SEEU Response." The event brought together approximately 130 participants, including academic and administrative staff from all University units.
"South East European University has recorded a steady growth over the years, and all the parameters confirm this," emphasized SEEU Rector—Acad. Prof. Dr. Abdylmenaf Bexheti. He presented the main achievements and outlined challenges at the institutional, national, and international levels.
As part of the program, Dr. Paul Foster from Montana State University–Billings, USA, delivered a keynote address. As a long-time associate of SEEU, he reflected on the University's development from its early years to the present.
The training sessions emphasized the integration of artificial intelligence in higher education, with particular attention to its applications in teaching and learning, as well as the University's strategies for adopting AI responsibly and effectively.
Participants were also introduced to recent developments through the European University Association (EUA) and ongoing institutional reforms in research, project development, and community engagement with promotional and commercial impact.
Individual faculties, along with their academic staff, conducted focused workshops aimed at addressing priority areas identified through student feedback. Additionally, the SEEU Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) Coordinator, serving as the institutional representative for the MAGNET Project, also presented and facilitated workshops as part of the program.
