Press Release for the MAGNET project: An initiative for the modernization of teaching in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) of the Western Balkans

The European project MAGNET - Managerial and Government Enhancement through Teaching in West Balkans, is an innovative partnership of universities aiming at the transition to a student-centered, active and interactive teaching and learning in HEIs. The project aims to enhance the quality of university teaching, through two main actions: a) the establishment and/or upgrading of Centers of Teaching and Learning (CTLs), which is a key pillar for the implementation of the European Higher Education Area; b) the establishment and operation of the Balkan Network of University Pedagogy (BALKANETUP), with the aim of creating synergies, research partnerships and joint programs for the improvement of University Pedagogy development policies and practices in the Balkan region. The 36-month MAGNET is implemented within the framework of ERASMUS+ CBHE with the Democritus University of Thrace as a coordinating body and consists of a partnership of 12 Universities from 8 Western Balkan countries (Greece, Albania, Bulgaria, Serbia, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina). The project team at DUTH consists of the MAGNET Coordinator Professor Katerina Kedraka, Assoc. Professor Lydia Mitic of the Democritus University of Thessaloniki, Dr. Christos Kaltsidis, Elena Raptopoulou and Panos Papadatos.
