Mission and Vision, Purposes of the Balkan Network of University Pedagogy
The BALKANETUP is a learning and practice community, consisting of Higher Education Institutes (HEIs), Centers for Teaching and Learning (CTLs), scholars and members of academic staff from Higher Education Institutes, higher education/ adult education experts and stakeholders and foundations/organizations focused, in the field of University Pedagogy/ Adult Education/ Life Long Learning, all related and interested in teaching and learning in Higher Education in the Western Balkans.
The vision of the BALKANETUP is to seek and promote cooperation and sharing between its members to enhance academic staff development using the most contemporary learning methods.
BALKANETUP’s mission is to strengthening the relations among its members to promote the exchange of best experiences in teaching and learning through the implementation of modern, innovative, transformative, competency-oriented and student-centered teaching strategies in HEIs. The BALKANETUP is therefor, a supportive and sharing community of educators committed in improving their practice and enhancing the quality of education for their students. This community provides an active context that permits its members to learn from each other, to share their knowledge, experience, and best practices. It aims at encouraging the teaching staff of HEIs to collaborate, share and provide opportunities for ongoing professional development and training, foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement among teachers, promote innovation and creativity in teaching methodologies, support teachers in addressing the challenges they face within their teaching roles, and advocate for the importance of higher education and the role of academics in shaping the future.
The BALKANETUP aims to improve the pedagogical skills of university teachers in various areas, through sustainable actions, divided into general and specific topics in order to address all disciplines and scientific areas.
The main objectives of the BALKANETUP network include the know-how transfer concerning the foundation of CTLs (Centers for Teaching and Learning), the production of educational material, encourage research and partnerships with academics, scholars, experts, stakeholders, HEIs and organizations focused and determined to create in higher education a modern pedagogical culture in the West Balkans.
The BALKANETUP organizes a range of educational activities for academic staff, including conferences, webinars, workshops, and counselling in the field of Higher Education Pedagogy, conduct and publish research/ surveys, share good practices, materials and literature for teaching and learning methods in diverse fields and disciplines.
